Recognize Perspectives

Students should be able to recognize perspectives, others’ and their own, articulating and explaining such perspectives thoughtfully and respectfully.

How?

  • Think about how the same historical event might be represented differently in another country.

  • Interview people with different perspectives.

  • Practice empathy.

  • Be open minded about value systems and behavior patterns that differ from yours.

  • Track news events across multiple networks internationally.

  • Use Skype or Facetime to ask people face to face where they stand on issues.
